Our Mission

Dorje Association is a non-political, non- religious, non-profit organization committed to improving the quality of medical care in China's poorest areas by supporting the creation of charitable clinics and hospitals, training doctors, nurses and midwives, and improving healthcare at orphanages. Begun in 2005 as a volunteer project to open a hospital in far west Sichuan Province, Dorje's has since grown considerably. In 2007, Dorje incorporated in France and established offices in Beijing and Shanghai. Still largely a group of volunteers, the members of Dorje draw inspiration from the words of one of our leaders who said: "Life gave me a chance to help others. I'm just doing what I can to make a difference."
